Dark Pedestrians

What is it with all these people in dark coats and dark jeans walking around at night, on unlit streets, crossing the road without checking for moving vehicles? No white on them anywhere. No reflective stripes. But they walk, oblivious to where the cars are, or who's turning, or whether they've crossing against a red light.

I don't wanna hit anybody! But I don't know how long it'll be before it happens. Especially during winter, with all the people walking in the road instead of attempting unshoveled sidewalks.

  1. You've noticed this phenomena, too, eh? I drive home from work at 1:00 in the morning (like tonight) and I've probably nearly hit someone (or multiple someones walking side-by-side in the road) two or three times, now. And they're ALWAYS wearing black or other dark colored clothing.

The closest I ever came was when a big truck was coming from the opposite direction. With those lights completely blinding me, I couldn't see squat, and the next thing I know I'm passing two people who are all dressed in black and on the road - despite the fact that I'M on the road, too. I nearly had a heart attack. I must have been within inches of them. I'm really surprised my side mirror didn't hit one of them.

I know I heard the guy (I think it was a guy and girl) yell something, but I couldn't understand what it was. Probably for the best. I just don't understand who all these people are that I pass taking talks at 1:00 in the morning and all dressed in black! What the heck is wrong with people???
