Y'know, your comment about the women being ultra-feminine made me realize that my Aunt Mary was already pregnant with Matt in that picture. I know that's not what Meghan meant by "ultra-feminine" but you can't get much more feminine than bearing life ... even when it does make you feel frumpy and ugly. :-)
And as I'm looking at the photo again, I notice that my Uncle Don (the one on the left) was younger than Maggie is now. Oh my goodness!
And for those in my family, man oh man, doesn't Jacob look like Butch!
THANK YOU so much for these pictures, Susan. Something I had not thought of before this moment, but each one of the people in our wedding have remained very important parts of our lives. I wonder about the wedding parties we read about in the paper today (7 or 8 attendant for both the bride and groom). How many of those will they even know in 50 years.
Looked at the "video" of our wedding and the album. The "video" is too dark to see much anymore. Meghan said about the ladies looking feminine. In the album ALL the lady guests had hats and gloves. The ladies serving had on those pretty organdy/lacey aprons. And the bride had a WAISTLINE!
Anna would love the wedding album -- all those ladies with gloves and full skirts and even the little veils on some of their hats!
By the way, Mom, your ever-helpful son-in-law mentioned that *I* was the casualty to the bride's waistline before the year was out. My apologies for that.
True enough. I remember your having a waistline, and I remember Jack Lelaine and wondering why you thought you needed to exercise because you were so thin.
Yup, I guess we'll just have to blame it on Karen.
But hey, as I have discovered, if anything is worth losing a figure over, it's a baby!
Swinging from one extreme to the other, either busy or vegging, orderly or cluttered, meals par excellence or insta-food, schoolwork all day or not at all. Good thing my husband is well-balanced.
The men were so clean-cut and sharp back then, and the women were ultra-feminine and not afraid of it. I love it! Those are beautiful pictures.

No, the waistline was there after David was born yet. I was really thin when you and David were little. Shall we blame it on Karen?
