Dawdling

How can it possibly take TWELVE minutes to toast two pieces of bread and spread peanut butter on them? Twelve minutes! No wonder we get nothing done around here....

How does a mother speed up a dawdler?

  1. I don't think you can really speed them up. My ds can sometimes take 1.5 hours to make breakfast. If we absolutely need to be somewhere like church I let him know a couple of times while he's getting ready how much longer he has to finish before we have to leave.

At home I just don't stress about it anymore. All it means is that he has less time to play later in the day.

  2. Kim, around here, needing to be somewhere tends to speed up Miss Social Butterfly. But having the consequence of less time to play doesn't seem to mean anything at home. Part of me wants to learn not to stress over it. The other part of me thinks, "C'mon, this is ridiculous!"

  3. If you figure it out, will you tell me? Then I can "fix" my dawdling Sarah...
