Movies

In the first 24 hours after church on New Years Eve, Gary and I watched four movies. Is this a harbinger of laziness and increased tv-addition in the new year?

This was the third time I watched Return to Me, and I like it better every time. The first time I watched it, I was just following the plot. The second time I was still a little weirded out by how the animals reacted to the heroine in the story. But this time I just thoroughly enjoyed the jokes and the relationships -- especially all the old guys. I also noticed that this story is a good example of a nice balance between dating and courtship, and how a person is marrying into a whole family and not just the one person.

  1. We just finished watching the HBO mini-series about John Adams. It was really good! I wouldn't let Maggie watch with you, it is for an adult audience. Gary and you could easily do a marathon of this series! Chris and I did.

  2. We tried looking it up to put on our Netflix queue, but couldn't figure out which one. Do you have a year and/or an actor or some other way we can identify which series you liked?

  3. HBO just recently released it in 2008. Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney are the lead actors--both won Emmys for their work on this project. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding it on Netflix.

  4. Paul Giamatti is John Adams- it should be the one from 2008, if I recall correctly.
    I want to see that...

  5. I love that movie. It's a nice one for when you are feeling lonely or depressed because you are still single or need a tear jerker. It's sad and funny in a good happy healthy way.
