Hospital Update
T minus 6 days and counting. And today we learn that Maggie's sister (and roommate) was good-n-exposed to mononucleosis a week ago. This happened with the last surgery: Rachel was exposed to chicken pox and due to break out the day after surgery was scheduled, but contagious prior to surgery. There will be much drinking of water, much popping of echinacea and zinc, much hand washing, and much garlic swallowing around here for a few days!

Oh no! Praying all goes well.
ReplyDeletewe are praying here that all goes well. Hopefully, if Maggie gets it, it will be one of those things where it passes unnoticed...the younger they are, the more likely that is....
ReplyDeletei am so sorry. really i am.
ReplyDeletei am praying for you all, and i apologize for exposing your little family to that.
Coral, no no no, don't you be sorry! I would never have wanted Rachel to stay home last Tuesday instead of be with you and Melody! I hope you can get through the rest of the semester okay, and crash and sleep sleep sleep over Christmas break.
ReplyDeleteBesides, even if it weren't for our love for you (which means I'm not upset about exposure to germies whatsoever), maybe (?) Rachel won't get it anyway. We were websurfing to learn about mono; it seems like it's similar to cold sores and chicken-pox/shingles and stuff like that. It is a very common thing, lives in most people's bodies, and just flares up when the stress on the body is weakened so much that the germies can grab hold. Rachel just better be careful to eat well and get plenty of rest here soon, and drink drink drink. But your body and mind and heart have had some pretty big strains recently, and the germies won this round. Hey, which reminds me, don't share straw with Mel, okay?!??
I hope you get better soon, sweetie.
