Finally, somebody writing about the need to get our bodies out into the sunshine, without sunscreen!
I thought it was particularly interesting that kids can store up enough vitamin D during summer's sunny days to get them through winter, but adults cannot. (Kinda makes me think of Frederick.) Also interesting that even people with cancers (including melanomas) can be helped by sunshine.

Amen and thanks, Susan. What's truly odd, I think, is that if you LISTEN to your body, it seems to give you the same common sense approach. The sun FEELS good on you. It just needs to be built up in moderation.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You are TOTALLY right on verse six.
I wonder if being raised near the Equator made me better or worse at storing up Vitamin D as a kid.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes think that just 2 weeks in Africa would cure a world of ills for a host of dear American friends, and for me, too!
I think Pastor Weedon has a great point about listening to your body. (And of course you know how I feel about the sun!)
