Registration began this morning for the CNA classes at our local tech school. To be admitted to the RN program, a student must already have the Certified Nursing Assistant training under his belt. Demand for those classes is high. The school told us that, if Andrew really wanted the class, we should be logged on to his account prior to 7:00, and register on-the-dot, when the atomic clock changed from 6:59 to 7:00. A little stressful to wonder whether he'd swoop in and get one of the open slots. But he did!!!
Hooray! He's also signed up for his CPR class in June.
Next job is to buy scrubs and a pair of white tennis shoes. (White tennies is no biggie for most students -- little girls with size 7 feet -- but when Bigfoot has to go shoe shopping....)

Yippeee! Happy shoe shopping!
ReplyDeleteHope you have successful shoe shopping. And sometimes Goodwill has scrubs, just thought I'd throw that out there :-)
ReplyDeleteYea, Andrew! When does the CNA course start and end?
ReplyDeleteRandy's really tall nephew has really big feet. They shop at Rogan's shoe store in Oshkosh. There's a Rogan's on Bluemound in Brookfield between Brookfield Rd and I-94. You might give them a call to see if they have size and color at a fair price.
ReplyDeleteI thought Cathy said the only place Jim could find shoes was at Stan's. Thanks, Pam -- I tried looking online at Rogans. They do go up to size 16 in New Balance. Might be worth a drive down there!
ReplyDeleteMom, the first day is Wednesday, June 22. Then Mon-Thur the next four weeks.
ReplyDeleteKatie, the uniform required for class is royal blue scrubs bought at the college bookstore. He can branch out into Goodwill scrubs later ... assuming they sell scrubs in Andrew's size and not just yours.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Andrew!
ReplyDeleteNat, by the way, is doing well with his CNA job. The first job he got was part time, but now he has a steady 48 hours a week - two daytime shifts followed by three overnight shifts. I'd die from that schedule, but he seems fine!
Congratulations!

Sandy, isn't Nat going to school too? Wow!
